Seals for centrifugal machines

Manufactured seals are labyrinthine and represent a contactless seal in the form of a small gap with a complex tortuous shape. Labyrinth seals are used at high peripheral speeds and temperatures, when contact seals cannot be installed. These seals can operate at virtually any speed and high temperature.
They are used to seal the spaces between the static part - the casing and the rotating part - the rotor. They are installed between the body and the shaft, the body and the cover disc (tire), the body and the dummy.
Air seals are designed to prevent air leakage from the suction side, air leakage inside, and also on the pressure side of the machine.
Oil seals are designed to minimize oil leakage from the cavities of the thrust bearing and bearing shells.
